As a precaution while waiting for my second Coronavirus test, I went and got a chest xray and explained what was going on with me.
After careful review and consideration of my symptoms and the xray, the doctor stated that I certainly don’t have pneumonia.
The doctor then told me : we think you have Covid-19. All your symptoms point to a Covid-19 diagnosis or a virus that is basically Covid-19 in function. Many times people will take the Coronavirus tests and come back negative over and over only to find out later it was actually Covid-19. So we’re telling you that whatever you have is being treated as Covid-19 and you have to quarantine for 14 days.
She then wrote me up a prescription for Prednisone and more Albuterol for the exacerbation of lung issues, told me plenty of bed rest, tylenol for pain and to go to the hospital if my symptoms worsen. She gave me a note for work asking my employer to excuse my 14 day absence.
Now I am in my room thinking: ‘Wtf?! Is it really possible to have Covid-19 and continously test negative?’ Well apparently it is. I searched online for it and found a few articles that I have linked below. Go figure, right?
CNN article about an OK woman
Some tests might show negative when you actually have it.
CNN article on negative tests but still contagious.
India times article, negative tests but CT showed Covid-19
Ok. I guess that’s all I can say about that. I am stuck at home, missing work (I take joy in being useful and productive). I have to figure out how to do something here while I I recuperate. I can’t see anyone and wouldn’t want to infect anyone anyway. This sucks big time.
Lesson learned though: if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, then it’s probably a duck even if your image analyzer says it’s a canary or a pidgeon!
While walking around lightly my head is starting to ring and buzz loudly (in addition to the pain) and my chest feels ridiculously tight and painful.
